185 Your Mom

possibly my lamest comic strip to date.  possibly.

well Hourly Comic Day was two days ago.  It was a blast and I’ve uploaded my hourly comics under the gallery section of the page.  or if you don’t want to look up at the menu you could always click here.  It’s something I’ll definitely be doing  again.

Friday is the first local Comic Artists Breakdown.  I’m really looking forward to it, but I’m also a bit nervous.  I’m still relatively new to the comic strip game which means I’m still in that insecure stage. I’m going to bring down the second mini that I’m working on and try to get a page or two done on it.   I’ll let you all know how it goes.

This month is RPM month and I’m participating in that.  It’s a challenge to record an album in a month.  Once I get some demos up on the official site I’ll link it to from here.

that’s about it for now.

cheers

well folks this week the website turned one year old.  holy cow.  i never really thought it would make it this far.  it’s certainly been a bumpy ride, between server fees, the site going down and  three redesigns.  the strip went from black and white to colour to black and white to colour again and then finally a new colour scheme.  i think i’m finding my stride with it now and am really happy where it’s sitting.  i’m really looking forward to 2010.  in april i’ll be a special guest at sci-fi on the rock 4 in st. john’s and am busy preparing some new merch for the con.  i’m also hoping to have both the second and third minis ready by april, plus a minimalist one-shot and a short collection of strips.  busy busy busy.

i just wanted to say thanks to everyone who have come to the site over the past year.  it’s so easy to feel like i’m in a bubble working on these strips so every little bit of encouragement has been more than appreciated.  i hope to be doing this comic for a long time to come!

cheers,

kevin

things have been a little spotty here in the little world since i got my new job. But I’m going to keep slugging away at the strip as often as i can.  I’ve been doing lots of work on the  TCG and it’s something I’m really excited about.

heya folks.  well, i took a few days off from the comic to rest up and recover after 24HR Comics Day.  The day was a success, although the comic ended up at 22 pages (with 23 and 24 being the front and back covers…).   I decided to do something complete different and completely off-the-cuff.  It was a great experiment and very refreshing to work on.  “The Staff of Ra”, with all it’s little flaws, spelling and continuity errors, will be posted in full on the site over the next few weeks.

The Scope, an awesome local arts paper/website, did a great little write up on my involvement in the challenge.  You can check it out here:  the scope They’ve also posted the second page of the comic if you want a little preview. Many thanks go out to everyone who supported me.  there were times in the night, especially about 6-7am when i really just wanted to toss in the facecloth, but the motivating words i got from fellow cartoonists, friends and family really helped pull me through.  thanks!!
